Thematic Strategic Research Programme

The Thematic Strategic Research Programme supports proposals that satisfy one or more of the following objectives:

Creation of high impact

Research that leads to significant benefit to the economy over the medium to long term.

Development of enabling capabilities

Research that leads to the creation of enabling technology platform(s) and technologies that will benefit one or more industry clusters in terms of breadth in the diversity of applications and depth in the value chain.

Support for national priorities

Research that solves specific problems which may compromise Singapore's stability or impede her economic or social progress.

The SERC is taking on a thematic approach for the funding of Strategic Research Programme. The thematic approach aims to foster collaborations and greater linkages within the research community and between institutions. It also aims to achieve prioritization of strategic areas for funding.
