Dr Hervé Bernard visited A*STAR on his first official trip to Singapore hosted by A*STAR Managing Director Prof Low Teck Seng.  He appreciated Singapore’s concerted efforts between the various ministries and agencies in promoting R&D, leading to economic and societal outcome.  Dr Bernard also shared recent developments in CEA including its focus on research in low-carbon energy, information-Health Technologies, as well as Defence and Global Security.  Dr Bernard was accompanied by Dr Walid Benzarti from the French Embassy and had also visited IPAL, the Image and Pervasive Access Lab – a collaboration between Singapore and France, before visiting A*STAR.
