Corporate Group
The Corporate Group supports the whole of A*STAR in achieving its mission. It is responsible for the development of corporate-wide management policies and guidelines, and provides policy advice to A*STAR's research institutes and entities.
Infrastructure Planning & Facilities Management Department
- To manage infrastructure planning, project development and FM operations
- To formulate policies, guidelines and management frameworks for facilities management, health and safety, and business continuity
- To develop and implement robust contingency plans and promote a healthy and safe work environment
Legal Department
- To provide value-added legal, commercial and intellectual property advice to the entire A*STAR group, including Exploit Technologies and A*STAR's research institutes. This includes:
- managing risks and liabilities
- preparing and reviewing contracts
- negotiating deals
- conceptualizing and implementing legal, intellectual property, commercialization and corporate polices for the A*STAR group
- undertaking legal education to create and upgrade staff awareness on basic and specialized legal and IP issues
- commenting on new and existing legislation
- manage litigation
- supervising and coordinating external legal counsel retained to provide specialist legal advice
Planning & Policy Department
- To assist in developing corporate policies on strategic issues such as human capital development, intellectual capital development and industrial capital development
- To establish knowledge and expertise in science, technology and innovation policy
- To support corporate plans and strategies development to further the mission of A*STAR
- To develop appropriate S&T indicators and undertake surveys to measure Singapore's progress in S&T
Administration Department
- To provide full spectrum of essential office services to A*STAR
- To administer the procurement of all goods & services required by A*STAR, provide advice on procurement matters and ensuring full compliance to the Procurement Policies & Procedures
Corporate Communications Department
- To develop and implement effective media and marketing strategy to enhance the profile of A*STAR and Singapore in science, technology and research
- To develop and implement science communication programmes to create interest in science
- To implement a coordinated media strategy across A*STAR, its councils and research institutes
Finance Department
- To provide full range of financial management services to A*STAR and Exploit Technologies Pte Ltd
- To develop financial policies and guidelines for implementation across A*STAR entities as well as the research institutes and centres
Human Resource Department
- To attract and retain the best for A*STAR to help the Board to achieve its mission by implementing effective HR practices
- To develop HR policies and guidelines for implementation across A*STAR entities as well as the research institutes and centres
Information Systems & Technology Department
- To enable A*STAR to achieve its mission through the innovative use of world-class Infocomm Technology
- To coordinate the planning, development and support of Information Systems and Technology across the A*STAR family
