ASTAR Science Award (Upper Secondary) The A*STAR Science Award (Upper Secondary) is given to local upper secondary students who show strong aptitude and interest in science and mathematics, to encourage and nurture their potential in this area.     Terms of Award The Award provides an allowance of S$1,000 per year. It is tenable for 2 years; however, continuation of award in Sec 4 is subject to excellent academic performance in Sec 3 promotional examinations and continued interest in science and mathematics. The Award carries no bond. Special Benefits Awardees are given many opportunities to gain an insight into what scientific research entails through various activities.  These include visits to A*STAR research institutes and Fusionworld, special invitations to talks and seminars by A*STAR scientists and renowned scientists from around the world. Eligibility Criteria The Award is open to Singaporean upper secondary students who have outstanding academic performance in science and mathematics subjects and a passion for research. Award and Application About 200 awards are offered through schools to Sec 3 students annually.
