Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA)

The Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA) supports short-term research attachments for international students at A*STAR. It provides a unique opportunity for top overseas students to experience the vibrant scientific environment in A*STAR Research Institutes and Consortia. Students will be able to work with distinguished and world-renowned researchers in A*STAR labs. This award will normally be for students in the later years of a Bachelor or Master level program. Students considering PhD studies in A*STAR are encouraged to apply for the Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) programme

• Monthly stipend of $1,500 (up to maximum of 6 months).
• Research attachment periods may vary from 2 to 6 months.

• Open to international students in Biomedical, Science and Engineering related disciplines who are undergraduate students in their third or fourth year, or Master students.

• Interested students can browse through A*STAR Research Institutes (RIs) and Consortia for attachment opportunities. 

• Please submit the following supporting documents via email to the contact person for the Research Institute that you would like to be attached to.

• There are 4 application cycles per year. The nomination closing dates are 1 February, 1 May, 1 August and 1 November every year.
• Nominations for A*STAR Graduate Academy’s (A*GA’s) funding of attachment must be submitted by the RI to A*GA at least 2 months in advance.
• Students are advised to contact the Research Institute at least 2 weeks before the nomination closing dates.
