A*STAR FACILITY SHARING PROGRAMME (A*FSP)
A*FSP is a collaboration between A*STAR and SPRING Singapore.
Through this collaboration, certain companies, may gain access to various equipment of A*STAR’s Research Institutes, in support of their research and development activities in Singapore.
Limited to Small and Medium Enterprises that are at least 30% locally owned and have net Fixed Asset Investment in Singapore of not more than S$15 million.
Conditions relating to the Equipment
At all times, A*STAR’s Research Institutes are at liberty to vary the type and quantum of equipment available under this Programme. A*STAR’s Research Institutes make no warranty as to the availability of any equipment.
All equipment provided under this Programme is to be used for Research, Development, Analysis, Characterization or Testing only. The equipment is not to be used for manufacturing and/or production. If the equipment is found to contravene the provisions of this clause, the Applicant (and where applicable, the User), may face a permanent prohibition from using any equipment belonging to A*STAR’s Research Institutes. In addition, A*STAR’s Research Institutes reserve the right to take such action which includes but is not limited to seeking from the Applicant and/or User, an account for the profits earned from such manufacturing and/or production.
Access to and use of the equipment will be granted only after the Applicant requests for the same, has obtained the requisite training from A*STAR’s Research Institutes and has been certified to operate the said equipment.
The Applicant is to bear the costs and expense of the training, which would include training on how to use the equipment correctly, as well as training to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, safety and health laws, regulations, rules, notices and policies as well as adhere to all the policies of the A*STAR Research Institutes relating to the same.
When access to and use of an equipment is granted, the Applicant is authorized access to the equipment, as well as reasonable right of passage to the usual areas leading to and away from the equipment. The Applicant is not authorized to have access to other areas of A*STAR or the Research Institutes and shall comply with all the provisions of A*STAR and its Research Institutes on the same.
In the event that the Applicant causes A*STAR and/or its Research Institutes to incur loss, damage or injury during or pursuant or related to the use of the equipment, the Applicant shall be liable to fully indemnify A*STAR and its Research Institutes to the full extent of the loss, damage or injury occasioned.
The use of the equipment is subject to the Applicant’s adherence to all the laws, regulations, rules, notices and policies of A*STAR and its Research Institutes. The Applicant is to familiarize itself with the same prior to entering the premises of A*STAR or its Research Institutes.
Following the use of the equipment, A*STAR will send the Applicant, an Invoice for the charges occasioned through the use of the same. The Applicant is to pay the charges within 30 days from the date of the Invoice, failing which the Applicant will not be entitled to further use of any equipment, under this Programme.
Operating Hours
A*FSP is available on weekdays, excluding public holidays, from 8:30am to 6pm daily (Equipment may be available up till 10pm, if required).
