Research Attachment for Overseas Singaporeans (RAOS)

Singaporean students currently pursuing their undergraduate or Masters education overseas can participate in short-term research attachments at A*STAR through the Research Attachment for Overseas Singaporeans (RAOS). The attachment provides students an excellent opportunity  to gain hands-on experience and work with distinguished and world-renowned researchers in A*STAR Research Institutes.

Eligibility

    Applicants must:

  • Be Singapore Citizens who are currently pursuing undergraduate or Masters studies overseas in Biomedical, Science and Engineering related disciplines
  • Have good academic performance.

The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive.
A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on prevailing scholarship policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice

Coverage

  • Monthly stipend of $1000 for undergraduate or S$1,200 for postgraduate students (up to maximum of 6 months).
  • Research attachment periods may vary from 2 to 6 months.

  • Interested students can browse through A*STAR Research Institutes (RIs) and Consortia for attachment opportunities. 
  • Interested students are to contact A*STAR Research Institutes and Consortia directly for attachment opportunities.

  • Please submit the following supporting documents via email to the contact person for the Research Institute that you would like to be attached to.
  1. Curriculum Vitae
  2. English-Translated Transcripts of Bachelor and Master Studies (if any)
  3. Copy of NRIC/ Passport
  4. Recommendation letter (if any)
  5. Period of attachment
