   Engineering RESPONSES

The Bioprocessing Technology Institute (BTI) is a national research institute established in 2003, and is funded by the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR) through its Biomedical Research Council.

BTI has core expertise in bioprocess science and engineering and has initiated new research programmes that will complement, add onto, as well as exploit existing capabilities.

These cornerstone programmes are in:

  • Immunology
  • Expression Engineering
  • Animal Cell Technology
  • Microbial Cells
  • Stem Cells
  • Downstream Processing
  • Analytics
  • "-omics" Technologies of Proteomics, Microarray, Metabolomics and Bioinformatics

An important component of our goal is the training of a cadre of resourceful science and engineering graduates and Ph.D. holders through BTI's Bioprocess Internship Programme (BIP) and a variety of post-graduate scholarships.

These skilled talents have been recruited by the biologics manufacturing companies established in Singapore and are the players in active research collaborations between BTI and industry as well as academic research partners.
