A*STAR Central Research Fund

Congratulations to Dr Cheston Tan, Senior Scientist from A*STAR’s Centre for Frontier AI Research (CFAR) for receiving the A*STAR Central Research Fund (CRF).

Dr Tan’s work titled "Composing and Constructing Conceptual Knowledge to Reason about Relationships" aims to develop techniques that allow for new knowledge to be built upon or understood in relation to existing knowledge, creating knowledge bases that are meaningfully structured. He will also create datasets that are centered around relationships between entities, focusing on physical, temporal and comparative relationships. The output will emphasise the instructiveness and quality of examples, rather than quantity, such that concepts can be represented by relatively few key examples.

The CRF is to recognise and support highly-productive and talented researchers to pursue innovative and impactful research in both use inspired basic research (UIBR) and applied / translational research (ATR).
