GIS scientist receives award from Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, for outstanding contributions to science

10 November 2025 - The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia organised an International Science Day to mark the 20th anniversary of the Shota Rustaveli Georgian National Science Foundation. The event included a ceremony to award 10 laureates of the Rustaveli Foundation Prize for "Contribution to Science and Special Achievements".

Dr Alexander Lezhava, Senior Principal Investigator at A*STAR Genome Institute of Singapore, was one of the recipients of the prestigious award, presented by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, and the Director General of the Foundation, Teimuraz Dochviri, to scientists who made outstanding contributions to the development of science.
