IHPC bags MTI Award for cross-agency project

30 Apr 2015

The IHPC team working on the project "Development of Integrated Multi-physics Urban Microclimatic Modelling Tool – Wind and Thermal, Solar Irradiance/Shading and Acoustic Noise Mapping" was recently awarded the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) Borderless Silver Award 2015. This project is funded under the Land and Liveability National Innovation Challenge (L2 NIC), and involves multiple organisations including: A*STAR (IHPC and I2R), HDB, URA, JTC, NParks, BCA, and NUS. This project looks at “Creating Highly Liveable Residential Towns” by improving the environmental, thermal and aural comfort levels. The end product will enable town planners to adapt building design and environmental modelling to create better urban townships with naturally cooler and calmer environments.
