Dr Kat Agres, a research scientist from A*STAR's Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), was interviewed on Channel News Asia's Why IT Matters documentary on 24 Dec 18.  

In the episode, Dr Agres spoke about the role of artificial intelligence in creativity, especially in the area of music. She shared that currently, music generation systems have limitations such as composing long term musical structure and cannot convey aspects of art such as intentionality, or evoking some form of emotional response from the listener. She further explained the possibilities of music co-creation through computationally creative systems, for example, through the development of assistive technology to make music composition more accessible to a wider audience and to help composers who have writers' block.
