IME Laboratory Officer, Mr. Muhamad Khairi Bin Safari, received the MTI GEMS Award 2009 from the Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. Lim Hng Kiang, at the investiture ceremony held on 25 November 2009. Khairi was among the 36 officers who were recognised for their exemplary service and quality delivery. Khairi is responsible for the operation of the etching process module with the Semiconductor Process Technologies (SPT) Laboratory. Recognizing that smooth operation of the module is critical to the entire prototyping process, Khairi has provided exemplary support in ensuring prompt lots' movements and minimum operations' down-time. IME Laboratory Officer, Mr. Muhamad Khairi Bin Safari, receiving the MTI GEMS Award 2009 from the Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. Lim Hng Khairi possesses an excellent track performance in IME through his dedication and valuable multi-faceted contributions to IME. A role model with a strong presence in the department, he demonstrated high degree of initiative in improving the efficiency of his technical support to his peers and will take pro-active approaches in meeting lots' time-line to achieve zero-delay in lots processing. Khairi demonstrated a high degree of devotion and sense-of-urgency in his work and provided tireless support for urgent and critical situations by providing close to 24/7 support. Always full of enthusiasm to learn more about his subject and develop his professional competency, Khairi is always willing to take on additional responsibilities while maintaining excellence in his daily work. His support for nurturing the young talents goes far beyond his own district. He has been actively involved in OJT programmes and equipments hands-on training of the module for junior staffs and students.
