A*STAR participated in the Industrial Transformation Asia-Pacific (ITAP) held from 14-16 October at Singapore EXPO.

With a focus on “AI-Powered Next-Gen Manufacturing”, we showcased the latest trends, innovations, and technologies from A*STAR and our partners. Attendees discovered how advancements in AI, sustainability and next-gen manufacturing processes are shaping a Smarter, Greener, and More Connected manufacturing.

Initiatives By A*STAR And Partners To Shape Future-ready Manufacturing

Guest-of-Honour Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat speech

In Guest-of-Honour Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat’s speech, he highlighted the catalytic role that industries, including the manufacturing sector, play in transforming economies to be future-ready and more resilient.

He also shared three priorities to work with even more global partners to advance AI-enabled manufacturing towards a greener and more sustainable future:

To advance science, technology and research to catalyse innovations in manufacturing.
A*STAR is driving R&D partnerships in areas like AI solutions and battery technologies to power next-gen manufacturing.
To broaden platforms that translate scientific insights into practical, innovative and viable solutions.
Enterprise Singapore, in collaboration with A*STAR Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic has launched the Advanced Manufacturing Centre of Innovation. Companies can collaborate with these institutes to develop tap new products or solutions and improve competitiveness.
To equip our manufacturing workforces with the relevant skills and proficiency needed to harness emerging technologies like AI.
The Singapore Workforce Institute of Future Transformation (SWIFT), a collaboration between A*STAR, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), and the Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy, prepares Singapore’s workforce for the future of AI-driven manufacturing.
