Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat spoke about innovating for performance, the planet and people at the opening ceremony of ITAP 2023 on 18 October 2023. He highlighted collaborations by A*STAR and partners through initiatives such as:
- Distributed Smart Value Chain (DSVC) programme, which enables manufacturers to band together and swiftly respond as a connected value chain to fluctuations in demand and supply.

Future Of Manufacturing (Fom) Cxo Summit And Roundtables
Co-organised by A*STAR and Constellar, the Future of Manufacturing (FoM) CXO Summit and Roundtables, held at ITAP 2023 on 18 October 2023, welcomed global thought leaders from various industry sectors.
The event featured an insightful keynote speech, along with panel and roundtable discussions on technology trends and industry shifts that are shaping the future of manufacturing, with a strong focus on advanced manufacturing technologies for a smarter, greener and more connected future.
Prof Yeo Yee Chia, Assistant Chief Executive, Innovation & Enterprise, A*STAR, delivered the welcome remarks where he spoke about the importance of finding co-optimised solutions for achieving technology innovations, sustainability and value chain resilience.
Alpesh Patel, Vice President, Head of Smart Factory Technology Innovation Group, Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore (HMGICS) delivered the opening keynote, where he spoke about revolutionising manufacturing with smart, green, and connectivity innovations.

Invited guests at the roundtable discussion on “Advancing manufacturing for a smarter, greener and more connected future” shared experiences and discussed about pain points and opportunities in manufacturing across 4 focus areas: Autonomous Manufacturing, Net Zero Manufacturing, Resilient Value Chain, and Next-Gen Manufacturing Processes.
Dennis Ling, Executive Director, Innovation & Enterprise, A*STAR, delivered the closing remarks and encouraged industry partners to forge new connections, share ideas, and nurture collaborations to push boundaries in manufacturing.

Dr Choi Dongkyu from A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), shared more about human-robot collaboration at the Industrial Innovation Stage. He highlighted the opportunities for collaborative robots to work alongside humans and assist with complex and less structured tasks that are difficult to automate.
