World Metrology Day 2017

19 May 2017   |   8.15 am to 4.00 pm,   Grand Ballroom, PARKROYAL on Beach Road, 7500 Beach Road, Singapore 199591

World Metrology Day 2017

The A*STAR National Metrology Centre (NMC) and the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) are jointly organising a Conference on “Measurements for Transport”, in conjunction with the annual World Metrology Day.

The
World Metrology Day marks the founding of the Metre Convention by seventeen nations on 20 May 1875. The Convention sets the framework for global collaboration in the science of measurement and the uniformity of measurement in commercial and industrial applications.

This year, invited speakers will share how measurement sciences and their applications could help the transport sector meet demands from the dynamic and constant evolving global market. This will benefit the end-users, stakeholders and regulators in related calibration, measurement and testing that are critical for global trade and industry. Stakeholders and key industry players will also be sharing their insights at the Industrial Engagement Session focusing on measurement needs, challenges and opportunities in transportation.
