TRANSLATIONAL CARDIOVASCULAR IMAGING GROUP (TCIG)

Group Leader:  Dr Joyce Chan

Research Overview

TCIG focuses on developing translational molecular imaging strategies aimed at improving selection of high-risk patients for prophylactic intervention strategies, paving the way for personalized management of cardiovascular diseases.

Research interests:

i)               development of molecular imaging strategies to visualize and characterize the underlying biological processes in cardiovascular diseases (carotid atherosclerotic plaques, intracranial plaques and coronary plaques)  and abdominal aortic aneurysms.

ii)              development of theranostic strategies for targeted imaging and inhibition of atherosclerotic plaque inflammation in cardiovascular diseases.

iii)             development of molecular imaging strategies to visualize and track drug delivery from balloon angioplasty or stent graft to vascular pathologies.
