Since the factory environment is simulated, all of the information about its operation (inventory levels, work-in-progress, machine utilisation, throughput and many more) is directly available to the user, and the speed and execution of the simulation can be varied at will.

This technology adopts a hybrid framework consisting of evolutionary algorithms and local search techniques for solving multi-skilled manpower scheduling problems efficiently in manufacturing environment.

Evolutionary algorithms use mechanisms inspired by biological evolution (typically reproduction, mutation, recombination, and selection) to determine candidate (potential) solutions for this scheduling problem. A local search technique is deployed to find a solution that maximises a criterion among a number of candidate solutions.
