Launch of the SIMTech Manufacturing Productivity Technology Centre and WSQ OMNI Programme

You are cordially invited to the Launch of the SIMTech Manufacturing Productivity Technology Centre (MPTC) as well as the Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Operations MaNagement Innovation (OMNI) Programme. The Guest of Honour is Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry & National Development. The event is on Friday, 7 October 2011 from 2.30pm to 5.00pm at SIMTech Tower Block, 71 Nanyang Drive, Singapore 638075.

The first of its kind in Singapore, MPTC promotes the use of technology to enhance manufacturing productivity through improving efficiency, effectiveness and also develop high-value products and services through value creation. To achieve this, MPTC assists companies harness A*STAR technologies, tools and capabilities in automation, processes and systems for manufacturing enterprises to gain “step-change” improvement in manufacturing productivity. The Centre showcases examples of industry’s productivity success stories.

Technology and training are complementary and key to boost productivity. The WSQ OMNI Programme synergises with MPTC’s role in providing training on technology for engineering professionals to deepen their skills for operational assessment and productivity improvement. Both the MPTC and the WSQ OMNI Programme offer small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and multinational corporations (MNCs) the opportunity to harness technology and research capabilities and knowledge transfer to achieve greater productivity and economic growth.

The event is expected to be attended by 180 senior representatives from industry, government agencies and the research community. The programme is provided below.
