Technology Infusion Programme: Data Mining Techniques for Manufacturing Applications

Date: 25 Aug 2009 - 22 Sep 2009

Venue: SIMTech Training Rooms, Tower Block, Level 3

Data mining is the process of running data through sophisticated algorithms to uncover meaningful patterns and correlations that may otherwise be hidden. These can be used to help analyse production or process performance better and further exploited to improve future performance through predictive analytics. To help participants understand and exploit data mining, this short course is specially designed for manufacturing data analysis with hands-on session to apply data mining techniques such as clustering and neural networks to develop reference models for process or equipment performance analysis. Real-life case studies in data warehousing, manufacturing process data modelling and knowledge discovery in equipment maintenance will be illustrated.
