Big Data Analytics Workshop and Productivity Roundtable

Nowadays, advances in computers and manufacturing techniques have made it easy to collect and store all kinds of data and this growing volume is becoming ubiquitous in manufacturing enterprises. The term “big data” represents the efforts of businesses to manage extremely large and complex sets of information and turn them into usable and actionable business intelligence for a new wave of productivity growth and innovation. This workshop serves as a forum for the industry community to gain insight on some recent advances in big data research and technology development, and also for the research community to gain insight on industry needs and challenges in the data analytics.  

In the first part of the workshop, Randy from IBM Singapore will share with participants the big data analytics technology in manufacturing, Professor Ng from NTU will talk about how this new cyber-infrastructure will transform manufacturing into a seamless ecosystem of design, operation, and business with zero risk and zero emissions and Dr Ou from SIMTech will share about real-time condition monitoring research. In the second part of the workshop, there will be a facilitated round table discussion to gather industry needs and challenges. We like to invite industry practitioners in Singapore to share with us their manufacturing related issues and challenges. Your valuable inputs will guide us in developing targeted big data analytics technologies that can enable you to innovate, compete and gain productivity.
