Introduction:

Mr Pan Dayou is a Senior Research Engineer at SIMTech. He has nearly thirty years’ experience in Welding Fabrication and Materials Joining. He is familiar with weldabilities for many materials, and most of welding (including brazing) and allied processes, for instance, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW, PAW, LBW, RSW, PGW, USW, SW, OFW, DFB, FB, TB, ASP, FLSP, PSP etc. His expertise includes:

  • Welding fabrication for pressure vessels, piping, valves, and turbomachineries;
  • Welding process development & optimization;
  • Welding productivity & quality improvement;
  • Welding qualification & certification;
  • Training for welding personnel.

He has served for quite a number of companies covering not only MNCs & LLEs but also SMEs from a variety of industrial sectors such as Power Generation, Chemicals, Aerospace, Marine, Oil & Gas and Offshore, Refinery, Domestic Appliances, Precision Engineering etc. In addition to industrial projects, he also carries out in-house and collaboration research projects focusing primarily on welding (or brazing) of materials ranging from ferrous, non-ferrous, to precious metals etc. Since 2013, he has served as lecturer/instructor dealing with various welding subjects in PE WSQ Graduate Diploma in Advanced Welding Technologies and PE WSQ Graduate Diploma in Metal Manufacturing Processes courses which jointly organized by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and SIMTech.
