Introduction:

Dr Feih is a Senior Scientist II in the Joining Technology Group at SIMTech in Singapore. She has over 18 years of international research experience. Prior to joining SIMTech in 2014, Dr Feih was a Senior Lecturer in the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at RMIT University in Melbourne. Dr Feih previously worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Riso National Laboratory (Denmark).

Dr Feih has published over 120 journal and conference publications in the field of advanced materials with a special focus on lightweight structures. She was the PI and Co-PI on five research projects funded by the US Office of Naval Research, with total grant funding exceeding US$2,300,000. At SIMTech, she currently leads composite repair projects with local and overseas industry involvement and oversees research on novel design strategies for 3D AM lightweight components.

Dr Feih has managed research projects with strong collaborative aspects with industry and international research partners and universities (LM Glasfiber A/S (Denmark), Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), Australia, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia, the Cooperative Research Centre for Composite Structures (CRC-ACS), Australia, the University of Newcastle (UK), Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (EMPA), Switzerland, Airbus (Germany), EADS (Germany) and Virginia Tech (USA)). 

Dr Feih is an Executive Council Member of the International Committee on Composite Materials (ICCM). She holds an Adjunct Associate Research Professorship at the National University of Singapore and an Honorary Associate Professorship at RMIT University, Australia.
