Introduction:

Dr Liu Kui currently is a Team Leader and Scientist of Mechanical Precision Machining Team at the Machining Technology Group, Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) and an adjunct assistant professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). He has led and worked for 30 industrial and research projects funded by Royce-Rolls, AvanStrate, NH-Techno, Delta Optics, Moveon, NRF, A*STAR and SIMTech, related to ultra-precision machining, ultrasonic vibration assisted machining, micro machining, machining of difficult-to-machine materials, micro-EDM, grinding, super polishing, deburring and finishing, edge profiling and modification. He has published widely with more than 100 technical papers in prestigious international journals and conferences. He is a reviewer and a scientific member of many international journals and conferences, respectively. He also teaches postgraduate and undergraduate courses at the NUS and co-supervises PhD students with NTU and NUS. He is a senior member of SME, euspenand JSPE.
