Introduction

Green Compass™ aims to help companies become more environmentally sustainable. Currently, some companies may not know where to start or how to scale up their environmental sustainability transformation, as they face a wide range of environmental sustainability issues and an even wider range of actions that they can take to address these issues.

Through the four-step Learn-Assess-Prioritise-Plan model, Green Compass™ will guide companies in their environmental sustainability transformation. It can be used by companies at any stage of their transformation journey.

About the Programme

Green Compass™ is an environmental sustainability assessment and strategic roadmapping tool that helps companies to become more environmentally sustainable by better managing their carbon emissions, energy, water, and waste impacts, as well as chart strategic roadmaps for their transformation based on their current environmental sustainability levels.

Through the four-step Learn-Assess-Prioritise-Plan model, companies will first learn about sustainability trends and methodologies and assess their companies’ environmental sustainability level. Next, they will prioritise areas with the biggest financial and strategic impact and chart the strategic roadmaps for their sustainability transformation based on their assessed sustainability level.

Companies can utilise Green Compass™ through this 16-hour Green Compass™ course, a collaboration between A*STAR’s Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) and TÜV SÜD.

TR 149:2026 – Specification for Organisations to Progress Towards Environmental Sustainability Excellence

TR 149:2026 is a Technical Reference (TR) published by Enterprise Singapore’s Standards Division, in collaboration with the A*STAR SIMTech and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF). This document outlines the requirements and provides guidance to help organisations enhance their environmental performance and move towards sustainability excellence in their business operations. Green Compass™ has incorporated TR 149 into its Assess step, enabling companies to evaluate their current sustainability performance and plan improvements that align with the specifications of the TR.

Organisations that embrace TR 149:2026 will be more strategically positioned as major industry ecosystems increasingly adopt and reference this standard, enhancing their competitiveness and relevance.
