Dr Wang Tong, Director of Q.InC Programme Office (QPO), leads operations for A*STAR’s Quantum Innovation Centre (Q.InC) and drives external research and partnership initiatives. He joined A*STAR’s Chief Quantum Scientist, Prof Lam Ping Koy, to spearhead Q.InC in 2023, and continues to play a pivotal role in the centre’s establishment, development, and growth.

Awarded A*STAR’s National Science Scholarship (NSS) for both his undergraduate and doctoral studies, Wang Tong obtained his DPhil (PhD) in quantum physics from the University of Oxford. During his academic journey, he received several accolades, including the Springer-Nature Award and A*STAR Roll of Honour. He subsequently joined A*STAR to continue his research, focusing on advanced quantum photonics and materials as part of efforts towards scalable quantum computing platforms. Together with colleagues including Prof Johnson Goh, Director of the National Quantum Sensor Programme (NQSP), he co-authored a book publication on advanced quantum materials.

Wang Tong transitioned into research management to drive strategic initiatives that generate real-world impact and strengthen the technological and translational competitiveness of A*STAR.
