The A*STAR Research Internship Award (ARIA) provides undergraduates an exciting opportunity to sharpen your research skills and discover your passion in scientific research.

Through curated internship project opportunities, ARIA equips you with first-hand immersive research experience. You will work alongside experienced researchers and scientist and would be able to conduct experiments, apply theoretical knowledge, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to real-world problems, and gain meaningful insights to how research shapes and contributes to Singapore’s future.

As research is increasingly interdisciplinary, we encourage applicants to review the projects in all categories regardless of your previous research experience and background.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Minimum internship duration is 16 weeks (during semester) or 12 weeks (during vacation), subject to university’s minimum internship duration requirements
  • Singaporean undergraduates (≥ 2nd yr) in computing and information science, engineering and technology, physical sciences, or biomedical/life/food sciences
  • On track to obtain at least a 2nd Upper Class Honours Degree or equivalent. CGPA Grades (i.e 4.0 out of 5.0)
  • Have strong interest in a research career
  • Have not previously been awarded an ARIA internship

    • Successful ARIA awardees will receive a monthly allowance ranging from $1600 to $2000.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

ARIA is intended to provide students with the opportunity to undertake ARIA as a Credit-bearing internship requirement module. The ability to qualify for credit-bearing internships is subject to meeting the criteria from the respective faculties/departments in your university.

Singaporean undergraduates at either the local or overseas universities can view the list of ARIA Research Projects and submit your applications.

Additionally, for Singaporean local undergraduates, you can find the project postings in your school internship portal by navigating to “ARIA/ A*STAR Research Internship Award”. Alternatively, you may reach out to your faculty’s contact person or admin for internship matters.

     b. Latest Uni Academic Transcript
     c. Official JC/Poly Academic Transcript Grades
     d. Most updated Resume
