Managing Electric Vehicle Risk: Lessons from Europe

MasterClass in Managing Electric Vehicle Risk
This masterclass is co-organised with TÜV Rheinland and Scorpio Electric.

The share of electric vehicles (EVs) in road traffic is constantly increasing. In connection with this, a risk management topic is coming to the fore, especially for maintenance and repair personnel: for example, the safe handling of high-voltage technology. This MasterClass serves as an insight, from TÜV Rheinland experience in Europe (where more than 1.4 million EV are on the road), focusing on risk management, technology, protection and responsibilities relevant to the overall safety and health protection in the Electric Vehicle workplace. Real-life case studies from Europe as well as from our Made-in-Singapore Scorpio Electric are included in this MasterClass as well.

About this MasterClass

This MasterClass aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the participant in the fundamentals and state-of-the-art on the latest developments in electric vehicle maintenance and safety through lectures and demonstrations. Electric Vehicle case studies will be discussed throughout the programme to enhance the participants’ appreciation of the different approaches and experiences. The knowledge gained during this MasterClass benefits both the participants who stand to upgrade their individual expertise and their companies with the opportunity to improve their productivity and competitiveness.

By the end of this MasterClass, participants will be able to gain the following knowledge and skills:

  • Obtain the skills and background knowledge required to be able to work safely on Electric Vehicles
  • Able to deal with basic and slightly more advanced safety health and safety issues at your level before escalating to your senior management, e.g. completing risk assessments, completing accident & incident investigations and inspections
  • Systems operation, shutdown procedure and tooling including PPE, vehicle reinstatement after repair
  • Understand the responsibilities and accountabilities of safe management, protection and handling of Electric Vehicles
