UK-SG Symposium 2017

17 May 2017

On the 17th May, the ARTC was the venue and host for the UK-Singapore Symposium on Future Factories. Held in conjunction and supported by the British High Commission, the event provided a platform for participants to interact with a number of foreign and local speakers to find out the latest advances in a wide variety of areas associated with the future factory.  We were fortunate to have in attendance His Excellency Scott Wightman, the British High Commissioner who provided the welcome address.

With an attendance of around 100, the event was quite lively with speakers from the Universities of Cranfield, Huddersfield, Nottingham and Strathclyde covering topics such as the internet of things, manufacturing metrology, robotized machining, and sustainable manufacturing.  This was complemented with three local presentations covering cybersecurity, digital manufacturing and future factory test-bedding.

For the ARTC this was the second time a symposium had been held here with the first one on the topic of Advanced Manufacturing taking place in September 2014.
