A*STAR BMRC Research Focus
The Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) plays a pivotal role in supporting, overseeing, and coordinating public sector biomedical research and development in Singapore. We cultivate a thriving biomedical ecosystem by driving advancements in core research areas such as bioprocessing, genomics, proteomics, molecular and cell biology, bioengineering, nanotechnology, and computational biology. BMRC actively promotes translational medicine and cross-disciplinary research to advance healthcare, while fostering talent and supporting biomedical research across public universities and hospitals. Our outreach efforts also promote public awareness of biomedical science. By strengthening the public R&D sector and facilitating flexible thematic partnerships, BMRC crafts unique value propositions for companies, attracting private biomedical R&D investments to Singapore.
