Cell Culture Technologies

Cell cultures are typically used for the production of biologics products (such as monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, vaccines) and other high value molecules (such as enzymes, flagrances and flavours). To produce such products at sufficient quantities for research and manufacture, it is important to obtain a cell line that can produce the product efficiently, optimize the culture conditions for higher product yield and/or scale up the cell culture to larger volumes. These are achieved via cell culture technologies which have been BTI’s focus since our inception. At BTI, the Animal Cell Technology group has developed expertise in the engineering and cultivation of mammalian cells including CHO, HEK293, Vero and hybridomas, while the Microbial Cell group has vast experience with E. coli and P. pastoris.
