Senior Research Fellow
I completed my PhD from the Institute for Nutritional Science, China in 2010, majoring in molecular and cell biology nutrition. After graduation, I worked in the Univeristy of Kentucky for a year and a half as a Research Fellow. I spent 6 months at the Nestle Research Center, Lausanne, Switzerland and Yale University. My research interests are in the role of nutrition in cognitive functions and the prevention of age-related diseases such as aging and Diabetes. I have been involved in several projects with industry such as Nestle, DSM and Amway as well as with academic institutes. My current research interests focus on examining the role of protein and amino acids, together with carbohydrate (white rice), in glycaemic control and insulin secretion. This novel research area aims to understand how the food (carbohydrates, proteins and fats) influences metabolic outcomes (glycemia, lipidemia and amino acid excursions) when composite foods are ingested.
