Dr Tony Lim

is a Senior Consultant with the Department of Pathology in Singapore General Hospital. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and subsequently obtained both FRCPath and FRCPA fellowships. After his HMDP in Liver and Gastrointestinal pathology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, he returned to practise General Surgical pathology with special interest in Liver and Gastrointestinal Pathology. His research interests include molecular genetics, personalised medicine and the study of Lung, Liver and Gastrointestinal diseases.

As the Academic Vice-chair (Strategic Programmes) in the Pathology Academic Clinical Programme, he directs many research initiatives like the Translational Pathology Centre which includes the SingHealth branch of national level Personalised OMIC Lattice for Advanced Research and Improving Stratification (POLARIS) programme. Dr Lim is the Clinical Director of the POLARIS programme which aims to transform disease management through personalised OMICS profiling. He also collaborates with many industry and non-industry partners, contributing his clinical expertise to numerous research projects leading to new developments and findings published in many peer-reviewed journals. In addition to research, he also has a keen interest in education and is an Adjunct Associate Professor in both Duke-NUS and NTU.
