CSC’S EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP PROG LEARNING JOURNEY

On 10 November 2022, the Civil Service College (CSC)’s Executive Leadership Programme (ELP) class, consisting of participants from various ministries and agencies, spent an enlightening afternoon at the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), where they learned about GIS’ genomics capabilities and DNA research.

Our colleagues introduced the class to A*STAR and GIS, and spoke on how genomics is used for a wide range of research areas, such as – precision medicine, food safety and security, urban biodiversity, pandemics, and data, among others.

The class had fun donning lab coats, and stepping into the shoes of a researcher for their educational lab tour to the GIS-PRECISE EXTRACT joint lab and the Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) lab.
