Temasek Foundation Pinnacle Series @WOHC2022

The 7th World One Health Congress 2022 (WOHC2022) took place from 7 - 11 November 2022 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre and the theme was ‘Integrating Science, Policy and Clinical Practice: A One Health Imperative Post-COVID-19. Scientists from around the world, national leaders and principals of International Organisations/ Philanthropy involved in One Health convened for this Congress. The WOHC has 5 distinct tracks - One Health Science, Pandemic Preparedness and Health Systems Resilience, Policy, Environment and Biosecurity, Impact on and Innovations in Clinical Practice, and Antimicrobial Resistance. 

The TF Pinnacle Series is a specially curated 3-day session (8 – 10 November) within the WOHC2022, with a focus on Southeast Asia and the region. The series serve as a platform to gather together the expertise of both regional and international clinicians, ecologists, epidemiologists to exchange scientific knowledge and best practices and provide a framework to strengthen the resilience of communities and populations in Southeast Asia and beyond.

A*STAR, together with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), co-curated the Temasek Foundation (TF) Pinnacle Series session under the track “Antimicrobial Resistance - Infectious Diseases Threats in Southeast Asia” with the theme “From Zoonosis to Antimicrobial Resistance”.

A/Prof Tan Hiang Khoon from SingHealth and Mr Stanley Tan from Temasek Foundation delivered the welcome address.


Across the 2hrs event, the invited speakers from the South-east asia region shared insights and perspectives on their domains expertise, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Prof Lisa Ng (A*STAR ID HTCO), and the panelists were Prof Laurent Renia (LKCMedicine and A*STAR ID HTCO, Singapore), A/Prof Sanjay Chotirmall (LKCMedicine, Singapore) in addition to the 5 speakers for this session.
