KPMG – I2R Joint Lab launches Cyber Threat Hunting tool
25 Mar 2019
Singapore’s KPMG and A*STAR’s Institute for Infocomm Research (I²R) have unveiled their first jointly developed cyber threat hunting tool at a launch party held on 25 March 2019.
This cyber threat hunting tool represents the first key milestone of the three-year Master Research Collaboration Agreement established in July 2018.
This cyber threat hunting tool is able to identify malicious and suspicious activities that would otherwise remain undetected. It extracts and processes digital footprint to help cyber professionals detect abnormal behaviour and suspicious activities in an organisation’s network. The cyber threat hunting solution will enrich existing cyber security offerings from KPMG.
This momentum will be carried on, and we will see the continuous development of this cyber threat hunting tool, and other digital and cyber offerings in the near future. With these increased capabilities, it will help KPMG bring more valuable solutions to organisations.
Mr Ong Pang Thye, Managing Partner, KPMG Singapore
A forum moderated by Dr Vivy Suhendr, Executive Director of the Singapore Cybersecurity Consortium was held during the event. Panelists including Mr Lien Choong Luen, General Manager of GoJek, Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, Principal Advisor of KPMG & Head of the Joint Lab, and Dr. Lee Xiaoli, Head of Data Analytics, A*STAR elaborated on the importance of cyber security and how research and collaboration between the public and private sector can help provide such breakthroughs that can change the way the industry works.
The KPMG Cyber Threat Hunting Solution is ready for deployment for interested organisations.
