Fujitsu, SMU, A*STAR, and UrbanFox Launch Field Trial to Enhance Crowdsourced Delivery in Singapore
Field Trial to enhanced crowdsourced delivery in Singapore
Technology has disrupted the way businesses are conducted and crowdsourcing is one of such new form of business model. This business model is evident predominantly in the transportation and delivery businesses within Singapore.
As delivery volumes continue to grow in tandem with e-commerce, smarter solutions are needed for these crowdsourced delivery personnel (Delivery Partners) to select the most optimal delivery jobs from the huge volume of delivery orders available, taking into consideration such factors as efficient delivery routing.
A*STAR’s Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) together with Fujitsu Limited, Singapore Management University (SMU) and UrbanFox Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Keppel Logistics will be conducting a field trial that explores new innovative solutions that enhances these crowdsourced delivery processes.
Incorporating A*STAR’s I2R’s proprietary AI-enabled descriptive and predictive analysis algorithms into the system, fundamental predictions on delivery demands, delivery allocations, dispatch routes could then be derived from historical data to facilitate these new solutions.
