One Node to Guard All: Jamming – Resistant and Low-Latency Communication for IoT

An algorithm that recovers quickly from jamming attacks

Current approach in reducing signaling overhead is unable to verify its own recovery performance thus vulnerable to jamming attacks.

Our novel approach of adding a guard node to the network as well as our signal recovery algorithm (iterative reweighted nuclear norm minimization, or IRNNM algorithm) is able to simultaneously detect the jamming attacks, reject these jamming signals, and recover the legitimate signals. The legitimate signal recovery error has been also significantly reduced, with as much as 4dB average recovery error reduction.

IoT application

This would build onto the requirements of low-latency and high-reliability communications for the many Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It could be combined with other techniques to deal with more complicated networks environment, e.g. interferences.
