Congratulations to IBN’s YRP Students for Winning 7 Awards at the 2018 Singapore Science and Engineering Fair
Congratulations to IBN’s Youth Research Program (YRP) students for bagging seven awards at this year’s Singapore Science and Engineering Fair held on March 8, 2018. Organized by the Ministry of Education, A*STAR and Science Centre Singapore, this competition is held annually and opened to all secondary and pre-university students between 15 to 20 years of age. It is a national platform for budding scientists to showcase their research projects in the past year.
13 YRP research projects were shortlisted out of 706 submissions, and our YRP students won one Gold Award, one Silver Award, three Bronze Awards, one Special Award and one Merit Award.
We are proud that our gold award winner Vicky Qian Qian Qu from Raffles Institution was selected to represent Singapore at the prestigious Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), which will be held in May in Pennsylvania, USA. Only 6 projects were selected to compete at Intel ISEF, which is regarded as the Olympics of science competitions.
We are also delighted that Vanessa Zhi Yi Lim from Raffles Institution won a special award for having the “Best Project in Microbiology” and was selected to participate in the International Conference of Young Scientist in April in Serbia.
