The A*STAR Infectious Diseases (ID) Labs was established on 29 September 2020 by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) as part of the Horizontal Technology Program Office (HTPO), a dedicated internal organisational structure focused on consolidating multi-disciplinary capabilities around a key strategic research area.
This HTPO is empowered to mobilise talents in a research area, specifically to prioritize, integrate, showcase and respond to demands and opportunities, within A*STAR or to support a national agenda.
In this context, the ID Labs is taking stock of ongoing Infectious Disease research in A*STAR, across BMRC and SERC, in order to consolidate & synergise the different expertises in response to the challenges identified during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Infectious Diseases HTPO is articulated in 4 key divisions
• Data Surveillance & Early Detection
• Infection & Immunity
• Therapeutics and Vaccines
