Dr Freda Lim

Dr Freda Lim is the Deputy Department Director of the Materials Science & Chemistry Department at the A*STAR's Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC). She received her Ph.D. in 2007, from Department of Chemistry at the National University of Singapore, specialising in Computational Chemistry. Her current research interests include topics related to the consumer care product development.

Dr Lim leads a team of researchers on developing in-silico models for formulations, hair surface and skin. The models that her team developed has been used to study the interactions and the delivery of chemical active onto and into these biological surfaces. Her research aims to develop formulations that are safer for consumers and the environment. Besides her driving her own research, she also works closely with the department leadership team to coordinate research activities across the department. Her role is to bridge between fundamental scientific research and impactful translational outcome through industry engagement.
