The Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) is a leading research institute in biomedical sciences funded by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Its mission is to be a top research institute in molecular and cell biology addressing the mechanistic basis of human diseases integrated with innovative translation. IMCB’s research activities focus on the areas of Animal Models of Development and Disease, Cancer Genetics and Therapeutics, Cell Biology in Health and Disease, and Structural Biology and Drug Discovery. The institute has extensive and comprehensive infrastructure and technology support for discovery and translational research with increasing collaboration with the medical communities and the universities.
IMCB is seeking two outstanding Principal Investigators (PI) to carry out internationally competitive research in any area of cell biology, developmental biology, structural biology or systems biology.
The research should have a clear relevance to the mechanistic basis of human diseases. Successful candidates are expected to build and maintain a strong research programme that complements the existing programmes and to establish collaborations with the medical community and industry. We are also interested in scientists developing new technologies and platforms that would strengthen the current programmes within the Institute.
These PI positions are equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor in the university system. Successful candidates can look forward to a competitive salary package and resources as well as a dynamic work environment. Although the research programme will be supported by core funding, PIs will be expected to expand their research activities by securing additional funds through various grant schemes in Singapore.
