Kaicheng LIANG

Kaicheng is an A*STAR National Science Scholar.
He studied at Duke University (B.S. Biomedical Engineering) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.S., Ph.D. Electrical Engineering). His doctoral expertise is in optical technologies for biomedical and clinical applications, with a focus on optical coherence tomography, endoscopy and miniaturized MedTech.

Upon returning to Singapore, he furthered his training in computing and AI at A*STAR’s Bioinformatics Institute. With generous support from A*STAR and Singapore’s National Research Foundation Fellowship, he started his independent laboratory in 2020. The multidisciplinary team of engineers, biologists and computer scientists develops new optical microscopy and imaging platforms driven by needs in cutting edge biomedicine, with emphasis on thick tissue samples and in vivo/clinical applications.
Kaicheng is jointly appointed with A*STAR’s Institute of Microelectronics and has an adjunct position at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
