Lab Location: #01-02 @ Helios Email: fu_yu@imcb.a-star.edu.sg Tel: 64788764 Dr. Fu Yu graduated with B.S. from Nanjing University, China. He received his PhD in Neuroscience from Stony Brook University, and did his PhD research in Dr. Josh Huang’s laboratory at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where he studied the molecular and cellular mechanisms of GABAergic synapse formation and maturation. He then moved to University of California San Francisco in 2011 for his postdoctoral training with Dr. Michael Stryker. At UCSF, he pioneered in imaging genetically labelled GABAergic neurons in behaving mice, and elucidated the circuit mechanisms of behavioural state dependent sensory modulation in mouse visual cortex. In 2014, he was awarded the prestigious A*STAR Investigatorship and started his lab at Singapore Bioimaging Consortium in 2015. Dr. Fu’s lab studies the neural regulation of energy homeostasis.
