IME's conference paper won Dr. Ahmed Elsaify Memorial Award at the 2010 International Conference on Body Sensor Networks (BSN 2010) held in Singapore. The paper, "Power and Area Efficient Wavelet-Based On-Chip ECG Processor for WBAN" authored by Dr Liu Xin and his team shared the award with another work from the National Centre for Sensor Research, Dublin City University, Republic of Ireland.
The award-winning paper described the design and realization of a power and area efficient application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) to process electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. The new ECG processor's small form factor and low power consumption are well-suited for wireless healthcare devices for monitoring purposes.
Dr. Ahmed Elsaify Memorial Award honours outstanding researchers whose scientific work exemplifies the innovative talent and qualities of the late Dr Elsaify.
