Dr Andrew Randles, a researcher at the A*STAR Institute of Microelectronics, has received the Excellent Oral Presentation Award at the 2
International Conference on Electronics, Mechatronics and Automation held at Quality Hotel, Singapore from 24 – 25 Aug 2013. The presentation titled “Temperature compensated aluminium nitride (AlN) based surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices” proposes a novel method of temperature compensation for an AlN SAW device by incorporating oxide trenches in the silicon substrate. Results from simulation modeling studies support the feasibility of the new method. The papers of ICEMA will also be published in a special issue of Journal of Automation and Control Engineering (JOACE).
