Label-Free Aptamer Sensor Based on Si Micro-Ring Resonators

This paper describes the development of a compact biosensor for point-of-care (POC) diagnostics.  The use of protein-based ligands on the silicon micro-ring resonators conferred superior sensitivity and specificity to the biosensor, validated by experimental data. Findings from the study lead the way to a low cost solution for various POC applications.
