Much work has been done on the development of the Materials Genome in the last decade with many open access repositories such as MaterialsProject.org, AFLOWLIB and others that provide properties of a large selection of known materials. Scientists are now taking steps towards data-driven discovery where such databases are immensely valuable. How do we take the next steps in discovering and designing new materials for structural and functional properties? This symposium aims to go beyond the materials genome and address these questions towards the next-generation of materials innovation.
