Research Details


My research interests are in materials chemistry, particularly:
(1) New functional inorganic and organometallic molecular materials.
(2) Antimicrobial gels. 
Developing New Antibacterial Gels
The increasing prevalence of antibiotic resistant bacteria is one of the most serious health challenges of our age. Front-line antimicrobial drugs are becoming less effective, increasing the risk of life-threatening infections, particularly for vulnerable groups such as older people, children and immunocompromised patients. This project is developing new antimicrobial gels with a reduced likelihood of promoting resistance.
