Research Attachment for Overseas Singaporeans (RAOS)

Singaporean students currently pursuing their undergraduate or Masters education overseas can participate in short-term research attachments at A*STAR through the Research Attachment for Overseas Singaporeans (RAOS). The attachment provides students an excellent opportunity  to gain hands-on experience and work with distinguished and world-renowned researchers in A*STAR Research Institutes.

Eligibility

    Applicants must:

  • Be Singapore Citizens who are currently pursuing undergraduate or Masters studies overseas in Biomedical Sciences and Physical Science and Engineering related disciplines
  • Have good academic performance.

The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive.
A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on prevailing scholarship policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice

Coverage

  • Monthly stipend of $1000 for undergraduate or S$1,200 for postgraduate students (up to maximum of 6 months).
  • Research attachment periods may vary from 2 to 6 months.

Application Procedure

Students interested in pursuing an attachment at A*STAR Research Institutes (RI) under the RAOS programme should complete this application form for shortlisting by the RI. For attachment opportunities at the Bioinformatics Institute (BII), Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), and/or NanoBio Lab (NBL), interested students should email the following RI coordinators directly for placement.
