2019 World Metrology Day Conference

The International System of Units - Fundamentally better

Metrology for Future of Manufacturing

The A*STAR National Metrology Centre (NMC), Health Sciences Authority (HSA) and Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) Interest Group, SMF, are organizing a conference on “The International System of Units - Fundamentally better” and “Metrology for Future of Manufacturing” on 24 May 2019, in conjunction with the international World Metrology Day (WMD).

This year’s WMD event is perhaps the most significant, as a landmark revision to the International System of Units (the SI) since its inception comes into force on 20 May 2019. The SI is now based on a set of definitions each linked to the laws of physics, and has the advantage of being able to embrace further improvements in measurement science and technology, to meet the needs of future users for many years to come.

This year, invited speakers will share how measurement sciences and their applications could help the industry sectors meet demands from the dynamic and evolving global market. This will benefit the industry and regulators to enhance capabilities in measurement and testing that are critical for researches, manufacturing and global trade. Stakeholders and key industry players will also be sharing their insights on measurement needs, challenges and opportunities in IoT, Sensor Network, and Advanced Manufacturing.

This full-day conference, which is free-of-charge, will also feature industry partners exhibiting their advanced solutions in meeting the future need in measurements.

You are cordially invited to register by 20 May 2019.

For those who would consider exhibition at the conference, please see below the exhibition package and register. Exhibition registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
